A bill to expand Georgia’s medical marijuana law moves out of a key committee, but without a provision for cultivation that has left parents upset.

Shannon Cloud, whose 10-year-old daughter Alaina suffers from Dravet syndrome and has severe seizures, worries many parents will continue to risk breaking federal law to bring cannabis oil here or turn to the black market to make their own for their children.

“We were really hopeful that we would get a solution here in Georgia this year that would help patients and families get the medicine that they need,” she tells WSB’s Sandra Parrish.
